Neff Elementary PTO – September 2026 Meeting

Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 - 6pm – Neff Library


I want to call this meeting to order, time is 6:05pm.

  6. A Place People Want to Be

    • Highest attendance rate in the district

    • Highest parent show rate for parent-teacher conference in the district

  7. Comprehensive Plan

    • 2025 Goals: By 2028: 2 goals: academic goal for ELA goal of academic reading; PBIS 

  8. Safety Week

    • New this year

    • Ambulance, EMS, and Fire Truck visits to the school and meet the service staff

    • Drill practicing

    • Book “I’m not Scared, I’m Prepared”

  9. Teacher/Staff Updates

    • No update from Devon Reichl

  10. Treasurer Report: Tiffany Bender

  11. Financial Update

    • Not much to update

  12. Truist Money Market

    • Current rate is 4%, it is liquidated and can be freely moved to checking account.

    • Motion to move $10,000 to Money Market

Hilary Haskin’s class will be delivering for Teacher Lunches

*Spirit Wear Sale - Sara

  • $2000 sold- $212 of fundraising

  • 46 orders

*Picture Day – Volunteers: Rachel Levine/Ellie Chandler/Laura Mazurkewicz

*Bingo – Steph

-Preselling Bingo Cards

- Caruso’s Pizza

- Volunteer Support: Pizza dispensing, set-up, break-down

*Bowling - Tiffany Bender

Proposal 1: Dutch Lanes

  • October 4th 2-4pm

  • $40/lane, allowed 6 bowlers/lane

  • Consider selling at $10/bowler, includes shoes

  • Future event notes: week nights they offer give backs; Friday nights historically not busy per Dutch Lanes

Proposal 2: Return to Leisure Lanes


*Lion’s Quest - Rachel (Nikelle Murphy is willing to help)

  • A fitness event that the students fundraise to get sponsors

  • Will be using 99 Pledges platform

    • Goal: $12,000

    • Appreciate Business donations as a part of this event as well that will be used throughout the year.

  • Rachel is working to increase social media visibility to get the word out about this event. 

  • Last year we had about 60% participation

  • Participation reward: Sunglasses

  • Top fundraiser for each class: beanie babies

  • If your class hits 80%- glow party

  • Top class- extra recess?

  • Volunteers- greatest need! Need to have clearances

Graduating Senior Award

  •  A former Neff Elementary Student

  • Essay prompt: “What would you tell your 4th grade self about transitioning to the next grade level?”

  • Possibility to have the winner present their essay to the 4th grade class

Motion to Approve Neff Gives Back Award:

GOTR (Girls on the Run) Support

  • Is there a way we could be giving back to the Neff club?

Potters:

  • Collaborating with high school students to put 3D metal art

  • Family Movie Night October 7th, Minions and Monsters, $8, buy at MTEF.net

  • Grant applications deadlines October 7th and April 7th 

    • Past Grants: Imagination Labs, STEM Lab

  • School Board Updates: JoAnn Hentz

    1. Here to be our liaison with the School Board, open to any questions

      1. Question posed about the threshold cap to determine # of classrooms per a grade

    2. Recent School District Issue:

      1. Schaeffer- sprinkler issues, 10 classroom impacted

      2. Landis Run Drive open

      3. Update on Stadium project and Nitrauer Renovations at Thursday, September 10th meeting

      4. Plans have begun to find another Superintendent
